Visa (Overseas Chinese students, Hong Kong and Macau students)
※For those who already hold a residence permit (such as Overseas Chinese University, Helicopter Research Institute, etc.) or Taiwan Identity Card (Passport of the Republic of China), please refer to the instructions for residence, entry and exit after coming to Taiwan directly, no visa/single-entry permit is required.
1. Visa (For Overseas Chinese Students):
(1) Enrollment through the overseas JUPAS channel: Instructions on the procedures for applying for a residence visa by the Consular Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs / Overseas Chinese Students [Overseas Joint Admissions is distributed to overseas students who come to Taiwan to study in universities, colleges, junior colleges, high schools (vocational) and other schools]
※Remind the students of the Indian auxiliary class to apply for a visitor visa according to the regulations of the school hosting the Indian auxiliary class. After being admitted to the university, please refer to the instructions for residence, entry and exit after coming to Taiwan, and then change the resident visa (Resident Visa). Issuance of a residence permit (ARC).
(2) Enrollment through our school's separate admissions channel for overseas students: The Consular Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs / Instructions on the Procedures for Overseas Chinese Students to Apply for Residence Visas (For overseas Chinese students admitted solely by domestic colleges and universities)
2. Visa (Chinese students with foreign nationality from Hong Kong and Macao):
(1) Hong Kong students: Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (Hong Kong) / Consular Affairs / Visa for Foreigners
(2) Macau Students: Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (Macau) / Consular Affairs / Visa for Foreigners
※Please use a foreign passport (non-Hong Kong and Macau passport) and a Resident Visa (Resident Visa) to enter Taiwan, and refer to "Residence and Entry and Exit Processing Instructions after Coming to Taiwan, and renew the Residence Permit Card (ARC) within 15 days after entering Taiwan."
3. Single Entry and Exit Permit (Hong Kong and Macau Students):
(1) Hong Kong students: Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (Hong Kong) / Consular Affairs / Application for Taiwan Entry Permit for Mainland, Hong Kong and Macao Persons / Hong Kong and Macao Permanent Residents Application for Entry and Exit Permit / Immigration Department Online Application System for Overseas Persons (Hong Kong and Macao) Residents for short-term stay), the application category is a single entry and exit permit (for studying abroad, the fee is NT$600).
(2) Macau students: Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (Macau) / Consular Affairs / Application for Taiwan Entry Permit for Mainland, Hong Kong and Macau Residents / Entry and Exit Permit for Hong Kong and Macau Permanent Residents / Immigration Service Online Application System for Overseas Persons (Short-term application for Hong Kong and Macau residents) stay), the application category is a single entry and exit permit (study reasons, cost NT$600).
※Please select "Study Abroad" as the reason for application, and do not select other reasons.
※The period of stay shall not exceed 3 months from the next day of entry, and an extension may be applied for once before the expiry of the entry and exit permit validity period (6 months from the next day of issuance), and the period shall not exceed 3 months.

Apply for a visa from the consular office of the Taiwan Embassy or Mission in your area. The consular office would be able to provide information on the application process and materials required.

If you plan to stay at NCKU for one academic year or longer, we strongly recommend that you obtain a Resident Visa. You will need to convert your Resident Visa to an ARC either within 30 days of entering Taiwan with the Resident Visa or within 30 days of receiving the Resident Visa while in Taiwan.
