I. On-campus Scholarships
1. NCKU Outstanding Overseas Chinese Student Scholarship
(1) Eligibility: With the exception of undergraduate freshmen who may apply for accommodation subsidies during their first semester, all other applicants must have completed one semester and submit an application in accordance with the following requirements:
- Undergraduate students: Applicants must take at least 16 credits in the previous semester (graduating students at least 9 credits). Their academic average must meet the ranking requirements, and conduct grades must be at least 80.
- Graduate students: Applicants must have an academic average of at least 80 and a conduct grade of at least 80. Students who have already completed graduation credits may apply with a recommendation letter from their advisor and other supporting documents.
(2) Scholarship Content:
- Undergraduate students:
- First semester for freshman: Free dormitory accommodation.
- Second semester for freshman: Free dormitory accommodation or a scholarship (only one may be granted).
* The lowest dormitory fee in that semester shall be used as the standard. No replacement will be issued to those who voluntarily give up their accommodation.
- Graduate students: Scholarship of NT$10,000 per month, up to six months, limited to 15 recipients.
(3) Application Procedure:Applications are accepted each semester. Applicants must submit required documents within the deadline announced by the Division of Overseas Student and Scholar Services, Office of International Affairs.

2. NCKU Subsidies for Underprivileged Students
(1) Eligibility:
- Students formally enrolled at NCKU who are from low- income households and require financial assistance.
- Applicants must meet the following minimum academic requirements for the previous semester (not applicable to new students):
- Undergraduate students: Average grade ≥ 65, conduct grade ≥ 80.
- Graduate students: Average grade ≥ 75, conduct grade ≥ 80.
*This scholarship is not limited by the rule “one scholarship per student per semester.”
*Students already receiving subsidies from the Ministry of Education or a Taiwan Government Scholarship are ineligible.
*Students from Mainland China admitted under the “Regulations on Mainland Chinese Students Studying in Taiwan” are not eligible.
(2) Scholarship Content: NT$18,000 per semester.
(3) Application Procedure: Applications are accepted after the start of each semester, and applicants should prepare documents and submit them during the period announced by:
- Domestic students → Division of Student Assistance, Office of Student Affairs.
- Overseas students → Division of Overseas Student and Scholar Services, Office of International Affairs.

(1) Eligibility:
- New students: Undergraduate overseas Chinese students who, at the time of admission, received approval for the OCAC Top Overseas Chinese Student Scholarship or the OCAC Outstanding Overseas Chinese Student Scholarship.
- Continuing students: Undergraduate Overseas Chinese students who received this scholarship at the time of admission.
(2) Scholarship Content:
- Recipients of the OCACTopScholarship:
- OCAC Scholarship: NT$260,000 per academic year.
- NCKU additional stipend: NT$130,000 per academic year.
- Total: NT$390,000 per academic year.
- Recipients of the OCACOutstandingScholarship:
- OCAC Scholarship: NT$100,000 per academic year.
- NCKU additional stipend: NT$50,000 per academic year.
- Total: NT$150,000 per academic year.
(3) Application Procedure: Applications are accepted annually. Applicants must submit required documents and complete the online application form within the deadline announced by the Office of International Affairs.

(1) Based on the “Guidelines for the NCKU Scholarship for Outstanding Overseas Students in Mathematics, Science, and Business Competitions.”
(2) Eligibility:
- International and overseas Chinese undergraduate students enrolled at NCKU within the first three years of admission, who have represented the school in international math, science, or business competitions designated or commissioned by NCKU.
- Applicants must be NCKU undergraduate students, and their admission must be through International Student or Overseas Chinese direct admission.
(3) Scholarship Duration: From enrollment until graduation, suspension, or withdrawal (within the study period stipulated by NCKU regulations; extensions are not eligible).
(4) Scholarship Categories and Amounts:
- Freshman: Each recipient will receive a 12-month scholarship, with full tuition and fees waived. Scholarship contents are as follows:
Mathematics & Science Competition:- Tier 1 (ranked 1st–15th): NT$12,000 per month.
- Tier 2 (ranked 16th–50th): NT$10,000 per month.
- Tier 3 (ranked 51st–75th): NT$8,000 per month.
- Tier 4 (high school representatives): NT$5,000 per month.
- Tier 1 (ranked 1st–15th): NT$12,000 per month.
- Tier 2 (ranked 16th–30th): NT$10,000 per month.
II. Government Scholarships
1.【MOE】NCKU Subsidy for Underprivileged Overseas Chinese Students
(1) Eligibility
- Overseas Chinese students studying in Taiwan under the “Regulations Regarding Study and Counseling Assistance for Overseas Compatriot Students in Taiwan.” (excluding graduate students and students on extended study)
- Undergraduate students in their second year or above who obtained a passing overall academic average in the previous academic year, and who have not received any disciplinary action of demerit or above.
* Students who already receive government subsidies, tuition waivers, or other financial aid are not eligible to apply for this subsidy.
(2) Scholarship Content
- The subsidy amount is determined by the MOE and distributed on a monthly basis.
- The award period is up to one academic year, from September 1 st to August 31 st of the following year. For graduating students, the subsidy is provided until the month of graduation.

2.【MOE】NCKU Scholarship for Outstanding Overseas Chinese Graduate Students
(1) Eligibility
- Students who have completed at least one semester of study in an NCKU graduate program, with academic and conduct averages of 80 or above.
* Students who have completed all graduation credits may also apply with the recommendation of their thesis advisor and by submitting supporting documents.
* Recipients of this scholarship are not eligible to concurrently receive the “NCKU Scholarship for Outstanding Overseas Chinese Students.”
(2) Scholarship Content
- A minimum of NT$10,000 per month.
(3) Application Procedure
- Applications are accepted each semester; applicants must submit all required documents within the deadline announced by the Division of Overseas Students and Scholars Services (OSSS), Office of International Affairs (OIA).

(1) Eligibility
- Outstanding Overseas Chinese Student Scholarship:
Applicants who meet one of the following criteria are eligible to apply:- Placed within the top five overall in their category through the joint distribution channel administered by the University Entrance Committee for Overseas Chinese Students (UECOCS), and ranked within the top 1% of that category.
- Won a gold, silver, or bronze medal in the International Olympiad competitions in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Earth Science, or Informatics, or won a first to fourth place award at the Intel/Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF).
- Elite Overseas Chinese Student Scholarship:
Applicants who meet one of the following criteria:- Placed within the top five overall in their category through the UECOCS joint distribution system, ranked within the top 1% of that category (excluding graduates of the NTNU Overseas Preparatory Program), and graduated from a reputable high school overseas. Their academic records must reflect the highest possible grade level, verified by the ROC (Taiwan) embassies, representative offices, missions, or other institutions authorized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and approved by the MOE selection process.
- Placed within the top five overall in their category through the UECOCS joint distribution system, ranked within the top 1% of that category (excluding graduates of the NTNU Overseas Preparatory Program), and achieved A1 in all subjects listed on the Malaysian UEC (Unified Examination Certificate).
- Won a gold, silver, or bronze medal in the International Olympiad competitions in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Earth Science, or Informatics, or won a first to fourth place award at the ISEF, and, after being reviewed and approved by three preferred university programs submitted through the UECOCS, received priority admission.
(2) Scholarship Content
- Minimum NT$10,000 per month.
- Outstanding Overseas Chinese Student Scholarship: NT$12,500 per month in the first academic year; NT$10,000 per month from the second academic year onward.
- Elite Overseas Chinese Student Scholarship: NT$25,000 per month.

(1) Eligibility
- Undergraduate students in their second year or above with an average academic grade of 80 or above in the previous academic year, and conduct grades of 80 or above in both semesters are eligible to apply.
- Graduate students (master’s and doctoral programs) are not eligible.
- Hong Kong and Macao students who meet the above requirements are also eligible to apply.
(2) Scholarship Content
- The number of recipients and award amounts are determined by the OCAC.

(1) Eligibility
Applicants must hold a senior high school diploma (or above) and meet academic and conduct standards required for admission to a bachelor’s degree program.- Top Overseas Chinese Student Scholarship: Academic average of at least 88 or ranked within the top 5% of the class, and conduct grade average of 80 or above.
- Outstanding Overseas Chinese Student Scholarship: Academic average of at least 85 or ranked within the top 10% of the class, and conduct grade average of 80 or above.
(2) Scholarship Content (up to four years of support)
- Top Overseas Chinese Student Scholarship: NT$260,000 per academic year.
- Outstanding Overseas Chinese Student Scholarship: NT$100,000 per academic year.
(3) Further Details
- Renewal procedures and additional information are available in the "OCAC Guidelines for the Scholarship to Reward Top and Outstanding Overseas Compatriot Students for Studying in Taiwan."
(1) Eligibility (all conditions must be met)
- Applicants must hold a senior high school diploma (or above), meet the requirements of Article 2 of the Regulations Regarding Study and Counseling Assistance for Overseas Compatriot Students in Taiwan, and be admitted as a new undergraduate student at NCKU for the 2025/2026 academic year.
- * Graduates of the NTNU Overseas Preparatory Program are not eligible.
- Applicants must be admitted to one of the following designated departments: Department of Electrical Engineering, Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering, Department of Photonics, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Chemical Engineering, Department of Materials Science and Engineering, or Department of Mathematics.
- Applicants who have not received, or whose application status for, the OCAC Scholarship to Reward Top and Outstanding Overseas Compatriot Students for Studying in Taiwan is still pending.
- Academic performance in Mathematics and Physics throughout all years of senior high school must meet one of the following:
- Top Scholarship: Average grades of 88 or above in both subjects, or ranked within the top 5% of the class.
- Outstanding Scholarship: Average grades of 85 or above in both subjects, or ranked within the top 10% of the class. In both cases, the overall conduct grade average must also be 80 or above.
(2) Scholarship Content (up to four years of support)
- Top Overseas Chinese Student Scholarship: NT$260,000 per academic year.
- Outstanding Overseas Chinese Student Scholarship: NT$100,000 per academic year.
