Taiwan-Europe Connectivity Scholarship (TEC Scholarship) for Semester exchange Students through University-level Agreements

 Program purpose 
The Taiwan-Europe Connectivity Scholarship is funded by the Taiwan Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) to foster academic cooperation and exchange between Taiwanese and European Universities. This scholarship allows the awardees to further pursue their original fields of interest and expertise, while strengthening relations between Taiwan and Europe. 

 Applicant eligibility 
An eligible applicant must meet all the following criteria:

  1. Students currently enrolling at a university in the below-mentioned countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, U.K. and Ukraine.
  2. Is not a citizen of the ROC (Taiwan), China, Hong Kong, or Macao.
  3. Does not possess overseas Taiwanese compatriot status.
  4. Will not be concurrently receiving financial support from another government agency or educational institution of Taiwan.
  5. Has not previously received a Taiwan-Europe Connectivity Scholarship.

 Scholarship Amount 
For awardees on semester exchange, a monthly stipend for a minimum of NTD15,000 for four months.
*The exact amount of the scholarship will be subject to adjustments from year to year.

 

 Obligations for awardees 
- Participation Requirements -

Chinese Language Course (CIDS): 2 hours/week for 18 weeks, 2 credits

Campuslink Event hosted by NCKU OIA (one-time event)

Hands Together Project (HTP) Activities with Local Junior or High Schools (at least one event)

 Selection Process 
- Guidedance for Partner Universities with University-level Agreements -

  1. Nomination for TEC Scholarship

    • During the university-level exchange program nomination process, partners from eligible countries should nominate students for the TEC Scholarship at the same time.

    • Please assign a priority number to each eligible student when nominating them. The criteria for assigning these priority numbers should be determined by each partner university.

  2. Scholarship Slot Distribution

    • NCKU will allocate scholarship slots as evenly as possible among partner institutions.

    • The priority numbers provided by partners will help NCKU determine which nominated students will receive the scholarship.

  3. Confirmation by Selected Students

    • NCKU will then send the scholarship terms and conditions to the selected students.

    • Students will be officially confirmed as scholarship recipients only after signing and returning the terms and conditions within the specified deadline.

- Partner Nomination Period (University-level Agreement) -
For Spring Semester 2026 incoming students: before September 15, 2025 at 23:59 (GMT+8)

For Fall Semester 2026 incoming students: March 3 to April 1, 2026 at 23:59 (GMT+8)

 

 Academic Calendar 
Spring Semester: mid-February to mid-June

Fall Semester: early-September to January
(Complying with the NCKU academic calendar)
*Students must spend the entire semester at NCKU.

 Admission 
1. The scholarship spots are adjusted by Taiwan Ministry of Foreign Affairs each semester, the admission to the scholarship will be announced at least one month ahead of the student's entry.
2. Once admitted, a Certificate of Award will be issued by Taiwan Ministry of Foreign Affairs as an official confirmation.

 Other Information 

1. The activities might be subject to adjustments by NCKU in each semester.
2. During the exchange period, expenses such as accommodation, food and other necessary fees are at the student’s own expense.
