【Foward】New Work Permit Pathway for Graduates from Top 200 Universities (Article 11, Act for the Recruitment and Employment of Foreign Professionals)
1. Pursuant to the newly amended Article 11 of the Act for the Recruitment and Employment of Foreign Professionals (link), foreign nationals who have obtained a bachelor’s degree or above within the past five years from a university ranked among the world’s top 200 schools as announced by the Ministry of Education may apply directly to the Ministry of Labor for a work permit to engage in professional work in Taiwan. The maximum duration of such a work permit is two years, and it may neither be extended nor reapplied for. This provision has taken effect on January 1, 2026.
2. In response to the above-mentioned amendment, the Ministry of Labor has formulated the “Regulations on the Act for the Recruiment and Employment of Foreign Professionals Article 11” as well as the “Application Form of Work Permit for Act for the Recruiment and Employment of Foreign Professionals Article 11” (see the attached files), so as to facilitate eligible foreign nationals in applying for work in Taiwan on their own.
