【NCKU OIA eNews】 2026 Spring Festival Gala Brings Nearly 400 Participants Together for a Festive Celebration
National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) is hosting its annual Spring Festival Gala for overseas students. Organized by the Division of Overseas Students and Scholars, the event is bringing together nearly 400 students from over 13 countries and regions, including Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Myanmar, to celebrate the upcoming Year of the Horse in a warm and festive atmosphere.
The gala is being attended by prominent guests from the Overseas Community Affairs Council (OCAC), the Straits Exchange Foundation (SEF), and local government agencies. Currently, the OCAC is presenting awards to outstanding overseas Chinese students, recognizing their academic excellence and exemplary character.
The evening features a vibrant cultural showcase, beginning with a traditional Malaysian lion dance. This is being followed by a soulful solo performance from a Myanmar student and energetic folk dances by the Indonesian dance troupe. A collaborative band formed by Malaysian and Indonesian students is delivering the grand finale, pushing the excitement to its peak.
To provide a "home away from home" experience, the university is arranging a grand raffle with prizes donated by government departments and faculty members. For many students unable to return home for the holidays, the gala is offering a precious opportunity to find community and belonging. NCKU is demonstrating its commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment, ensuring that international students feel valued and cared for throughout their academic journey in Taiwan.

Participants enjoyed the evening with memorable performances and an exciting lucky draw.
