【NCKU OIA eNews】 NCKU OIA Hosts Overseas Students Orientation for Fall 2025

National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) welcomes over 150 new international students to its Fall 2025 Overseas Student Orientation, held on September 5 at the Kuang-Fu Campus. The program aims to help students adapt smoothly to campus life and living in Taiwan, while strengthening NCKU’s dynamic international community.
Prof. Wei-Shiun Chang, Associate Vice President for International Affairs, greeted the newcomers with warm remarks, encouraging them to pursue academic excellence and make the most of their journey in Taiwan.
The Division of Overseas Students and Scholars Services (OSSS) introduced key resources and services available at NCKU. Presentations covered essential topics such as the Alien Resident Certificate (ARC), work permits, scholarship applications, and other administrative matters. Students also learned about the Career Navigator program, which connects them with internship opportunities and corporate partners to support professional growth.
To further ensure student well-being, representatives from the Counseling and Wellness Division shared guidance on mental health support, while officers from the Tainan City Police Department provided practical advice on campus and community safety. In addition, students were introduced to the “Cheng Ying Butterfly Program,” the Chinese Language Center, and a variety of student clubs, offering multiple pathways to academic and cultural enrichment.
Through this orientation, NCKU reaffirms its commitment to building a supportive environment where international students can thrive both academically and personally.
