【NCKU OIA eNews】 Bridging Borders: Delegates from National Chung Hsing University and Bahauddin Zakariya University Visit National Cheng Kung University to Enhance Global Connections and Seek Future Collaborations

On January 13th, 2025, Prof. Chi-Chung Chou, Vice President and Senior Vice President for International Affairs, National Chung Hsing University (NCHU), along with Prof. Faqir Muhammad, Dean of Faculty of Veterinary Sciences, Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU), paid a memorable visit to National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), fostering international exchange and academic collaboration.

The session commenced with welcoming remarks by Prof. Shu-Jung Hu, Associate Vice President for International Affairs, NCKU, who greeted the distinguished guests with sincere respect.  She also highlighted the presence of Pakistani students at NCKU, spread across various departments and fields of study. Following this warm welcome, Prof. Shu-Ying Wang, Director of Division of Study Abroad, Office of International Affairs, NCKU, provided a brief introduction to NCKU, emphasizing not only the university’s key strengths and distinctive features but also its core values in a comprehensive manner. 

The meeting continued with Prof. Faqir Muhammad’s presentation on his abundant research studies and the education system in Pakistan, showing the country’s commitment to advancing knowledge and fostering the intellectual and professional development of future generations. Following his engaging talk, Prof. Chun-Li Tsai, Dean of College of Social Sciences, presented the college’s research achievements and international cooperations led by the NCKU College of Social Sciences, foregrounding the college’s efforts and dedication to NCKU’s internationalization. Afterward, a dynamic and engaging discussion took place. Rafia Tanzila, a graduate student at NCKU’s  Institute of Behavioral Medicine, shared her experience during the admission process and offered her insights into studying in NCKU’s rich and culturally inclusive environment provided.

Prof. Faqir Muhammad, Dean of Faculty of Veterinary Sciences, Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU) introduced the education system in Pakistan.

 

The brief yet meaningful exchange concluded smoothly following the discussion. Remarkably, the productive event initiated potential collaborations between Taiwan and Pakistan in the future. The success of meeting not only opens up new opportunities for partnerships but also strengthens the mutual ties between the two countries.
