The partnership aims to foster innovation and talent cultivation, including semiconductor technology.
This year, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) has selected Dresden, the capital of Saxony, for its very first European facility. The construction of this facility is scheduled to commence at the end of 2024, with mass production expected to begin in 2027, marking a new era of Taiwan-Germany semiconductor cooperation. A critical aspect of this partnership is cultivating semiconductor talent, which remains a top priority for bilateral cooperation. The signing of this MOU and Student Exchange Agreement between NCKU and TUD acknowledges the crucial enabling role of mutual academic and research collaboration. It highlights the shared commitment of both Taiwan and Germany to address the growing demand for talent development in the semiconductor industry.
Dresden University of Technology, Germany, is globally renowned for its outstanding achievements in medicine, computer science, microelectronics, materials science, energy, and engineering.
