POI LAM High School (Malaysia) and Silicon Valley International School (USA) Visits National Cheng Kung University

 

Two delegations visited the Office of International Affairs of National Cheng Kung University (OIA, NCKU) on April 24th – Mr. Zu-Sheng Chen, a teacher of POI LAM High School (Malaysia) visited in the morning; Mr. Zi-Long Lin, the Upper School Chinese Dean and Ms. Anjanita Mahadoo, the Director of College Admissions Counseling of Silicon Valley International School (USA) visited in the afternoon.
        
In the meeting with Ms. Yi-Chun Lien, a Manager of OIA, NCKU, Mr. Chen mentioned most of the students from his school are planning to study abroad, with Taiwan being one of their ideal countries, and the fields they are most interested in include Medicine, Biotechnology, Electrical Engineering, Accountancy, Industrial and Information Management. NCKU provides professional curricula among diverse departments, with a good reputation, especially among Malaysian high schools; this explains why statistics show that the number of Malaysian students enrolled in NCKU has remained at the top among all overseas students since 2014. Besides, as most Malaysian students would apply as Overseas Chinese Students, Manager Lien gave a thorough overview of the procedure, timeline, requirements, and scholarships for Overseas Chinese Applicants of NCKU, guiding Teacher Chen to have a clearer picture of it and share the information with his students when coming back to Malaysia.
    
In the afternoon, Ms. Ada Huang, a Manager of OIA, NCKU, and the staff from the Chinese Language Center (CLC), NCKU, gave a warm welcome to the delegation from the Silicon Valley International School. CLC introduced the course information for students to strengthen their Chinese language skills from beginning to advanced; Manager Huang shared the admission information for International Students, including the prospectus, timeline, requirements, Full-English Programs, and scholarships, and expressed that NCKU always embraces Overseas Students from different parts of the world.
