In his remarks, NCKU President Meng-Ru Shen emphasized that the alliance represents higher education’s collective response to demographic shifts and intensifying global competition for talent. Leaders of KSU, CJCU, and FYU highlighted the multiplied impact of cross-institutional collaboration, noting that resource sharing and coordinated talent cultivation can generate outcomes greater than individual efforts. Vice President for International Affairs Sun-Yuan Hsieh further outlined strategic measures within the University Alliance, including overseas high school partnerships, joint graduate scholarship programs, and industry collaboration mechanisms designed to address projected high-level talent shortages.

Since its launch in July 2025, the NCKU-led University Alliance has evolved into a coordinated platform linking academic training, graduate progression, and industry engagement. With the addition of KSU, CJCU, and FYU, the alliance now constitutes a fully integrated academic pipeline in Southern Taiwan, broadening opportunities for international students while strengthening the region’s capacity to attract, cultivate, and retain globally competitive talent.
