In accordance with the academic roadmap of the NCKU-Purdue Dual Degree Program, the third cohort of students (Class of 2026) is set to depart for Purdue University this August as exchange students to complete their senior year. This marks a significant milestone in the ongoing collaboration between National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) and Purdue University, as students transition from three years of rigorous study at NCKU to a new chapter of academic and personal growth abroad.
To celebrate their accomplishments and encourage them as they take on new challenges, NCKU held a farewell ceremony at the Electrical Engineering Lecture Hall. The event recognized the students’ successful completion of their studies from freshman to junior year at NCKU and expressed hopes for their future success in earning a bachelor’s degree and applying to graduate school at Purdue.

The ceremony was attended by Prof. Felix Wu, Dean of the College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science; Prof. Yu-Lung Lo, Vice Dean of the College of Engineering; Prof. Sun-Yuan Hsieh, the Vice President for International Affairs; department chairs, faculty members, and administrative staffs, all of whom offered warm congratulations and heartfelt encouragement. Faculty reminded students that “three years at NCKU is not the end—it is the beginning of a new challenge.”
The event also featured returning alumni from the second cohort (Class of 2025), who had completed their senior year at Purdue and were successfully admitted to U.S. graduate programs. They shared their experiences and offered practical advice, becoming both role models and sources of inspiration for the departing students.
The class representative of the third cohort expressed admiration for the confidence and growth exhibited by returning seniors and shared their hope to one day become a role model themselves after completing their journey abroad.
The ceremony concluded in a warm and moving atmosphere, as students presented flowers and bowed to express their gratitude to their professors, bringing the event to a heartfelt close.
