NCKU representatives engaged with the local students at the Malaysia-Taiwan Higher Education Fair.
National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) continues strengthening its ties with Malaysia, home to the largest international student group on campus. As part of its ongoing international recruitment efforts, NCKU participated in the “Malaysia Taiwan Higher Education Fair” organized by the Federation of Alumni Associations of Taiwan Universities, Malaysia (FAATUM). The fair, held across western and eastern Malaysia, featured participation from more than 60 national and private universities from Taiwan.
Led by Prof. Sherry Shu-Jung Hu, Associate Vice President for International Affairs, the NCKU team engaged with students and teachers from various Chinese Independent High Schools and National-type Secondary Schools (Sekolah Menengah Jenis Kebangsaan or SMJK) in Klang, Kuala Lumpur, Kota Kinabalu, and Miri. Students showed keen interest in topics such as academic programs, scholarship opportunities, tuition fees, campus environment, etc. NCKU representatives also reconnected with many distinguished Malaysian alumni, reflecting the university’s long-standing ties with the region.

On May 7, NCKU held a seminar at Sabah Tshung Tsin Secondary School (STTSS), attended by approximately 200 students. The session included an informative introduction to NCKU and its admission application, followed by a lecture by Prof. Shu-Jung Hu. Students actively participated in the Q&A session and expressed interest in pursuing further study at NCKU. The visit concluded with a meeting between the NCKU team and Principal Chin-Hing Chung of STTSS, highlighting the school’s support for future academic collaboration.

Through its participation in the education fair, NCKU aims not only to enhance its visibility in Malaysia but also to inspire future talents to realize their potential at NCKU, while building enduring academic bridges with local institutions.
