NCKU international students experience tea harvesting at the tea farm.

On the first day, students visited a local tea farm in the Chiayi highlands, where they engaged in hands-on tea harvesting, rolling, and tasting. In the evening, they explored Chiayi’s famous Wenhua Road Night Market and enjoyed various local delicacies.

The second day featured a DIY workshop at the Crafts Studio of Jiao-Zhi Pottery, allowing students to learn about Taiwan’s intricate ceramic traditions. This was followed by a visit to the i-Wood Village, where participants discovered creative woodcrafts and cultural design spaces.

TCUS international students proudly presented their handmade Jiao-Zhi pottery mosaic tiles, showcasing cultural creativity.

Students from NCKU, coming from countries such as Myanmar, Malaysia, Haiti, and Germany, expressed that the field trip not only deepened their appreciation of Taiwanese cultural heritage but also allowed them to meet peers from other universities and form lasting friendships.

This meaningful exchange across universities received enthusiastic feedback from participants, who hope that more TCUS cultural events will be held in the future to further enhance intercultural understanding and student engagement.
