On December 11th, 2024, international students from National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) visited Micron Technology to learn about its pivotal role in AI and semiconductor advancements. The visit began with a presentation by Micron’s Global Talent Acquisition Team, which provided an overview of the company’s global operations. As data becomes increasingly central to modern life, along with the memory and storage solutions that enable it, Micron’s expertise in these technologies and its critical industry role were highlighted. Students gained valuable insights into AI’s rapid development and its strong connection to Micron’s innovations.

The event also featured interactive small-group sessions led by Micron’s foreign engineers and Human Resources representatives. They shared their personal experiences of working at Micron, discussing both their professional growth and day-to-day life. The concept of DEI (Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion), a core value at Micron, was introduced to help students understand the company’s commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive workplace culture.

The visit concluded with a tour of Micron’s A3 Showroom tour, where students observed real-time manufacturing operations and the highly automated processes in action. This immersive experience inspired students’ curiosity and expanded their imagination about the possibilities in the semiconductor industry.

NCKU and Micron share a vision for fostering a diverse and inclusive workforce, emphasizing the importance of equipping international students with the skills and opportunities needed to contribute to Taiwan’s growing science and technology sectors.
