On 5th December 5th, a delegation from University of the City of Manila (Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, PLM), led by Joseph Berlin Juanzon, Ph.D., Member of the Board of Regents and Executive, visited National Cheng Kung University (NCKU). Hosted by NCKU Executive Vice President Chair Prof. Woei-Jer Chuang, the delegation explored collaborative opportunities in medicine, engineering, and student and faculty exchanges. The discussions aimed to strengthen academic partnerships and broaden research collaboration between the two universities.

EVP Chair Prof. Woei-Jer Chuang highlighted NCKU's strong connections with Filipino universities and its reputation for excellence in both academia and industry collaboration. He mentioned that NCKU's dynamic environment has attracted many Filipino students over the years and expressed optimism about welcoming more in the future.
Joseph Berlin Juanzon, Ph.D., shared his enthusiasm for strengthening connections with NCKU’s College of Engineering and initiating new collaboration with the College of Medicine. He hoped that this visit would serve as a foundation for more profound exchanges and stronger partnerships between the two universities.
Chair Prof. Sun-Yuan Hsieh, Vice President for International Affairs of NCKU, and Dean Bernard R. Letrero, PLM’s College of Business introduced both universities and shared insights into past collaborations. Vice Dean Prof. Chen-Ming Kuo from NCKU’s College of Engineering and Professor Chun Hei Antonio Cheung from the College of Medicine highlighted their respective programs. During the discussions, NCKU presented policies supporting international students and emphasized the importance of exchange programs to foster mutual learning.
