【NCKU OIA eNews】Office of International Affairs Holds 2024 Fall Semester Overseas Students Orientation

National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) held its Overseas Students Orientation for the 2024 Fall Semester on September 6, aiming to help international students adjust to campus life and living in Taiwan. The event saw the participation of over 120 students from various countries, adding a rich diversity to the universitys international community.

 

At this event, NCKU Vice President for International Affairs, Chair Professor Sun-Yuan Hsieh, personally attended the event to extend a warm welcome and offer his best wishes to the international students. He expressed hope for their success in academics and for an enjoyable stay in Taiwan.

During the orientation, the Division of Overseas Students and Scholars Services (OSSS) provided essential information that students should be mindful of during their studies. This included guidance on Alien Resident Certificate (ARC), work permits, scholarships, and other important matters. They also introduced the Career Navigator Program, which is designed to assist students with internships and career development opportunities, providing information about the program's offerings and its corporate partners.

 

The international students actively participated in the event

 

Additionally, the OIA invited local police officers and representatives from the Counselling and Wellness Division to offer advice on living in Taiwan. These sessions were aimed at helping students adapt smoothly and complete their studies successfully at NCKU.
