【 NCKU-ASE International Students Career Development Day】

To enhance the connections between international students and the industry, foster their inclination to remain in Taiwan post-graduation, and align with Taiwan's New Southbound Policy, National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) organized an "ASE Recruitment Orientation" for international students on the 5th June at Academy Hotel, Tainan. The event garnered participation from students across various academic disciplines, such as the College of Engineering, College of Management, and College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, representing nations including the United States, Kingdom of Eswatini, Pakistan, India, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia. Notably, among the attendees, 15 individuals are expected to complete their studies this year and have expressed their interest in working in Taiwan after graduation.

Chair Professor Sun-Yuan Hsieh, the Vice President of the Office of International Affairs (OIA) at NCKU, expressed gratitude to Mr. Richmond Huang, the Manager of the Human Resource Division of ASE Group Kaohsiung., for his presence. Mr. Huang provided insights into ASE's growth, employment criteria, and eligibility criteria, which proved beneficial for students in their professional trajectory planning. Additionally, he elaborated on ASE's core operations in chip packaging and testing services, as well as their international footprint.

Mr. Huang delineated the recruitment criteria and perks available to foreign workers, with a specific emphasis on recent graduates in the engineering and semiconductor sectors. He offered guidance on crafting resumes and acing interviews, carried out concise interviews, with follow-up sessions arranged for successful candidates. The proceedings, conducted in English, served as a forum for overseas students to engage directly with businesses, thereby enriching their comprehension of Taiwan's semiconductor landscape and fostering their inclination to remain in Taiwan after completing their studies.
