【A Successful Conclusion to the 2024 TCUS Scholars' Gathering】
National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) hosted the 2024 Taiwan Comprehensive University System (TCUS) International Scholars Gathering on June 21st. This event brought together scholars from National Cheng Kung University, National Chung Cheng University (NCCU), National Chung Hsing University (NCHU), and National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU). Nearly 30 scholars attended, hailing from diverse countries including Belgium, Hong Kong, India, South Korea, the Philippines, Turkey, the United Kingdoms, and the United States. It is worth mentioning that Prof. Der-Hwa Victoria Rau, the International Director of National Chung Cheng University, also graced the event with her presence.
The gathering commenced with a speech by Prof. Chun Hei Antonio Cheung, the Director of the Division of Overseas Students and Scholars Services (OSSS), who shared his rich experience of 16 years teaching in Taiwan. Following this, the OSSS organized a small game designed to test the scholars' knowledge of Taiwanese culture. The quiz encompassed famous landmarks, traditional festivals, and geographical locations in Taiwan. In the end, Dr. Sina Taheri Baghmisheh from National Cheng Kung University emerged victorious in the competition.
The highlight of the event was the networking session. This segment provided an excellent opportunity for scholars from various universities to connect, fostering discussions that could lead to future academic collaborations. The atmosphere was lively and conducive to meaningful exchanges.
Overall, the event received positive feedback from many scholars, who expressed their enthusiasm and willingness to participate in similar exchange activities in the future.
