【NCKU Overseas Hubs – 2023 Overseas Week】

NCKU's Overseas Hubs hosted the 2023 NCKU Overseas Week from December 4th to 6th. Continuing the tradition of online conferences, the event features experts from various fields sharing the outcomes of collaborative research projects, discussing visions and practices for sustainability, and exploring topics in the medical field. The collaborative effort involves academia and research, fostering a shared commitment to academic excellence. It has reached over 2000 people from 19 countries including Taiwan, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Thailand.

From December 3rd to 7th, scholars from five different Malaysian universities visited NCKU to give lectures and to conduct research discussions and exchanges through the Researcher Mobility and Networking Program organized by the NCKU Overseas Hub in Malaysia. Their research fields include Aeronautics and Astronautics, Pediatrics, Biomedical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and Bioscience and Biotechnology. Members of the NCKU Overseas Hub in Malaysia led by Director Noor Hayaty Abu Kasim of the NCKU Overseas Hub in Malaysia used this chance to have meetings and discussions with the Office of International Affairs, College of Engineering, College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and College of Medicine to explore potential collaborations.

After years of dedicated efforts, NCKU's Overseas Hubs have experienced substantial growth, establishing local organizational development and personnel presence. NCKU has actively cultivated its international presence, promoting academic exchange, research collaboration, and interdisciplinary talent development. The Overseas Hubs embrace a broad vision of compatibility and diversity, serving crucial roles in industry, policy, academia, and research. Through fulfilling four major missions, including joint research, academia-industry cooperation, international education, and overseas recruitment and admission, the NCKU Overseas Hubs aims to become a comprehensive platform to deepen NCKU’s collaborations with the long-standing partners and their local societies.
