【The NCKU-Mathematics and Science Competition and Business Competition Scholarship Awardee’s Testimonial】
Mathematics and Science Competition and Business Competition in Malaysia have been organized and run for more than 3 decades; this year, the competition has ended in early September successfully.
Office of International Affairs, National Cheng Kung University (OIA, NCKU) greatly appreciated the enthusiasm of all participants and the support from OIA faculty for the follow-up phone calls with these dear students, who showed determination and interest in applying for admission at NCKU.
We are honored to have Mr. HUANG, YOU-CHEN, who had once experienced the competition and is a current NCKU student granted the competition scholarship, to share his valuable experience with all of us, also some advice and encouragement for future NCKU students.

Mr. HUANG is enrolled in the Department of Biotechnology and Bioindustry Sciences; 2023 fall semester is the starting point for him to explore his potential with peers and faculty. In the interview, he told us why he chose NCKU, besides the familiarity that his parents, aunt, and uncle who are NCKU alumni, may have had some positive influence on him through their past study and living experiences, he personally appreciates NCKU of being in the top tier of research and ranking among all universities, knowing the resources at NCKU are abundant; he enjoys spending time on campus, which is rich in natural beauty and public art, he also recommend students to visit NCKU libraries and join school clubs.
Mr. HUANG recalled how he reminded himself to be a diligent student in order to be elected as a participant in the competition and eventually be an awardee of the NCKU-Mathematics and Science Competition Scholarship. He emphasized time-management skills and self-discipline; Furtherer more, he encouraged future NCKU students to be open-minded, to make foreign friends, and to learn from peers and teachers. In the end, he especially pointed out NCKU EMI (English as a Medium of Instruction) courses and welcome international students to embark on their new journeys from NCKU to the world.
