2023 Overseas Alumni Homecoming Party

On the 92nd anniversary of National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), celebrated on November 11th, the Office of Overseas Students and Scholars Affairs (OSSS) organized an event that brought together alumni who had graduated as international students. Not only did alumni attend, but also the presidents of the alumni associations from Hong Kong and Malaysia took advantage of their visit to Taiwan to engage in exchanges with current students.

On the event day, the opening ceremony was conducted by Professor Antonio Cheung from the OSSS. To foster a lively atmosphere among the alumni, an ice-breaking game of bingo was chosen. Through the bingo game, attendees had the opportunity to get to know each other, and as a result, meaningful interactions and connections were established among the participants.

Following that was the highlight of the homecoming party - alumni sharing their experiences of staying in Taiwan. Alumnus Ahmad Kholik shared that he had just graduated from NCKU this year and began working at ASE Technology Holding Co., Ltd. (ASE) Nanzih Plant in Kaohsiung at the end of November. This job opportunity was secured through leveraging various resources and information available at the university during his academic journey, and he received the job offer shortly before graduating.

Sathita Sutthitrairong, who graduated four years ago. Over the past four years since graduation, she has worked in both Tainan and Kaohsiung. Currently, she holds the position of APAC E-commerce Manager at a company in the Hsinchu Science Park and has obtained permanent residency in Taiwan. Interestingly, she shared her experience on renting accommodation in Taiwan, stating that "finding a place to live was easy during my time at NCKU, but it became a challenging task after entering the workforce."

The 2023 Overseas Alumni Homecoming Party for international student alumni brought together the hearts of various alumni. It provided an opportunity for those who were initially unfamiliar with each other in a foreign land to communicate and reminisce about the beautiful times they had during their studies at National Cheng Kung University.
