The University of Wisconsin System (UW System)'s Interim Senior Vice President Johannes Britz and Interim Associate Vice President Tracy Davidson paid a visit to National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) on October 13th. Through an in-depth and fruitful discussion, NCKU hopes to shape a future collaboration with the UW System in three target disciplines: Medicine, Planning and Design, and Mandarin Language, and looks forward to initiating joint research, student exchange, faculty mobility, and academic programs or activities of mutual interest.

Professor Hong-Chen Chen, Executive Vice President of NCKU, described the university's role as an innovation hub in Southern Taiwan, closely interacting and cooperating with national scientific institutes such as the Taiwan Semiconductor Research Institute. He also stated that the NCKU Medical Alliance, consisting of the NCKU medical center, eight regional hospitals, and 600 clinics, is the guardian of 3 million people in southern Taiwan.

Professor Johannes Britz, Interim Senior Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs at UW System, placed importance on international collaboration and international talents in his remarks. He expects that, besides academic studies at UW System, overseas students will have opportunities to interface with local businesses and stay and work in the United States after graduation.
