The NOVA Project Scholarship was established by the National Cheng Kung University America Alumni Foundation, Inc. (NCKUNAAFI) in 2022 and it is funded by NCKU worldwide alumni. It aims to recognize students with the competencies to face the challenges of a new era and award them a grant to study abroad. Eight NOVA Scholars, awarded in the 2023 Spring semester, went abroad at the beginning of this year and recently finished their overseas studies. This summer, five NOVA Scholars of the 2023 Fall semester are ready to set out on their journeys. On July 14th, Mr. Jen-Chieh Chang, the Internet and Media Director of NCKUNAAFI and an alumnus of NCKU, returned to campus to express his blessing to the newly awarded NOVA Scholars. Meanwhile, the NOVA Scholars expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the alumni’s generosity and support.

The five NOVA Scholars are from the College of Liberal Arts, Engineering, and Management, and they all have intense passion for learning and set specific goals for studying abroad. Despite feeling nervous about stepping outside their comfort zone, these NOVA Scholars look forward to their new life in foreign countries. They hope to become benefactors to the younger generation with the spirit of NCKU that we never shy away from challenges. They are ready for any challenge, and for sure they will also do the best to achieve their goals!
