【因「外國專業人才延攬及僱用法」修正，自115年1月1日起僑外生畢業後延期居留 2 年期間，可自由工作 】

[Due to the Amendment to the Act for the Recruitment and Employment of Foreign Professionals — International Graduates May Work Freely During the Two-Year Post-Graduation Residency Starting January 1, 2026]

（一）自115年1月1日起，具備副學士（含）以上學位之僑/外畢業生， 畢業後可申請延期居留一年，屆期前如有必要可再申請延期居留一年，總延期居留期間最長為二年。兩年期滿後，仍須依下列兩種路徑之一，在符合外國專業人才規定的情況下正式就業：

1. 僑外生留台工作評點配額制。
2. 依「外國專業人才從事專門性或技術性工作」相關規定辦理。

A.  Starting January 1, 2026, overseas chinese students and international students (collectively referred to as “graduates” below) who have obtained an associate degree or higher in Taiwan may apply to extend their residency for one year after graduation, and—if necessary—apply once more for an additional one-year extension, for a maximum extension period of two years. During this two-year period, graduates may work freely without applying for a separate work permit, including full-time, part-time, or internship positions. After this period expires, graduates must transition to formal employment in Taiwan under one of the following pathways, in accordance with regulations on foreign professionals:

1. The new Scoring System for Overseas Compatriot students and international students

2. Application under the regulations for Foreign Professionals engaging in Specialized or Technical Work

（二）依修正後「外國專業人才延攬及僱用法」第18條，外國專業人才或外國特定專業人才於我國就學期間取得副學士以上學位者，其在臺合法居留期間可折抵部分永久居留年限：

1. 外國專業人才：博士可折抵三年，碩士折抵二年，學士或副學士折抵一年，折抵年限不得合併計算。

2. 外國特定專業人才：博士可折抵二年，碩士一年，折抵年限不得合併計算。

 According to the amended Article 18 of the Act for the Recruitment and Employment of Foreign Professionals, foreign professionals or foreign specialist professionals who have obtained an associate degree or higher in Taiwan may have their legal period of residence in Taiwan during study counted toward part of the required duration for permanent residency, as follows:

1. Foreign professional: A doctoral degree obtained counts as three years, a master’s degree counts as two years, and a bachelor’s or associate degree counts as one year. The four may not be aggregated.
2. Foreign specialist professional: A doctoral degree obtained counts as two years, a master’s degree counts as one year. The two may not be aggregated.
