Division of Study Abroad, Office of International Affairs, hosted the 2027 Spring Semester University-Level Outbound Exchange Program Information Session and Experience Sharing Session on April 20 and 21, 2026, with over 330 participants.

To broaden students’ international perspectives and enhance their global awareness, the University-Wide Outgoing Exchange Program encourages students to undertake academic study at partner universities abroad for one academic semester.

The Division of Study Abroad, Office of International Affairs, hosted the 2027 Spring Semester University-Level Outbound Exchange Program Information Session and Experience Sharing Session on April 20 and 21, 2026. The events attracted over 330 students to participate, demonstrating strong enthusiasm for international mobility and cross-cultural engagement.

Prof. Shu-Ying Wang, Director of the Division of Study Abroad, opened the event with a warm welcome, encouraging students to step beyond their comfort zones and embrace the opportunities and challenges of studying abroad as a gateway to personal growth and a global perspective. In her remarks, she quoted the well-known saying, “The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page,” encouraging students to embrace the value of global learning and actively explore opportunities beyond familiar boundaries.
She also highlighted four key partner universities—University of Tsukuba (Japan), Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (Germany), Université Grenoble Alpes (France), and Purdue University (USA)—noting that students admitted to these institutions are eligible for additional scholarship support.

The Information Session on April 20 was delivered by Coordinators Coltyn Liu and Jennifer Chen, covering key topics such as the application process and detailed information on scholarship opportunities, aimed at helping ease the financial burden of studying abroad.

Students shared stories about their learning journeys, cultural exchange, and personal growth abroad, and encouraged participants to take a first stride.

During the Sharing Session on the following day, five students returning from their partner universities shared their own personal experiences, offering first-hand insights into their academic and cultural journeys abroad. Their host institutions included the University of Tsukuba (Japan), University of Innsbruck (Austria), Technical University of Darmstadt (Germany), University of California, Irvine (USA), and Kobe University (Japan). Through their stories, they brought their exchange experiences to life, sharing perspectives on application preparation, cultural adaptation, and academic learning. They also highlighted cultural differences, encouraging participants to reflect on the meaning and value of exchange.

The Division of Study Abroad will continue to promote awareness of international learning opportunities and encourage more students to participate in outbound exchange programs, broadening their global perspectives.
