National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) held a launch ceremony for the INTENSE Program, marking a new milestone in its collaboration with ASE Technology Holding Co., Ltd. Building on their existing joint R&D center and international talent cultivation initiatives, the program aims to nurture key semiconductor professionals to meet the industry's evolving needs.

In his remarks, President Meng-Ru Shen emphasized that NCKU continues to advance initiatives in education, research, industry collaboration, and internationalization to strengthen its position in higher education. He expressed gratitude to ASE for its longstanding partnership and support, and highlighted the university’s commitment to deepening cooperation with industry leaders to offer students practical, hands-on learning experiences. Through such collaborations, NCKU seeks to cultivate talent with both a global outlook and specialized professional competence.
 
Sunny Li, Vice President of ASE’s Administrative Resources Center, remarked that the semiconductor industry depends heavily on specialized teamwork, with outstanding engineers playing a vital role in sustaining Taiwan’s global competitiveness. ASE currently employs over 1,200 foreign engineers from 17 countries and plans to expand international recruitment further. She added that Taiwan’s safe, inclusive, and dynamic environment makes it an attractive destination for global professionals. ASE remains committed to offering robust career development opportunities and comprehensive living support. Through the INTENSE Program with NCKU, ASE aims to cultivate advanced R&D talent, enhance academic–industrial collaboration, and strengthen international connections—helping international students establish stable careers in Taiwan while injecting fresh momentum into the semiconductor industry and driving mutual growth for industry, academia, and students alike.
 
At the conclusion of the ceremony, President Shen and Vice President Li jointly raised the cooperation agreement, symbolizing a new chapter in industry–academia partnership. The event concluded with an exchange of tokens and group photos to commemorate the occasion.
