To advance campus internationalization and enhance the quality of services for international students, the Office of International Affairs (OIA) at National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) held the “Crossing International Boundaries – Bilingual Website Competition Award Ceremony” on December 16, 2025. The event recognized outstanding departments for achievements in bilingual website development, administrative innovation, and an international-friendly environment.

NCKU Executive Vice President Shyy-Woei Chang delivered the opening remarks, noting that the competition aligns with the Higher Education Sprout Project by promoting digital and bilingual administration. He emphasized the importance of English websites to global visibility and encouraged continued cross-unit collaboration to strengthen NCKU’s international competitiveness.

Following his remarks, Chair Prof. Sun-Yuan Hsieh, Vice President for International Affairs, noted that the inaugural competition actively invited enthusiastic participation from all academic departments across the university. After preliminary reviews, secondary evaluations, and on-site visits, eight outstanding departments were ultimately selected. He highlighted departments’ innovative achievements in bilingual websites, digital tools, and support for international students. He emphasized the value of on-site visits and noted that OIA will share best practices to strengthen NCKU’s internationalization ecosystem.

After a video highlight of the competition, Executive Vice President Shyy-Woei Chang and Chair Prof. Sun-Yuan Hsieh presented the awards. High Distinction Awards were presented to the Department of Psychology, the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics / International Degree Program on Energy Engineering, and the Institute of International Management (IMBA). Excellent Awards were presented to the Department of Biotechnology and Bioindustry Sciences, the Department of Environmental Engineering, and the Master's Degree in Intelligent Computing, while Honorable Mention Awards were presented to the Institute of Allied Health Sciences and the Department of Nursing.
