The Office of International Affairs of National Cheng Kung University successfully hosted the Faculty Networking & Cultural Visit event for the Taiwan Comprehensive University System (TCUS) on July 30, bringing together international faculty members and researchers from the four TCUS member universities for a day of meaningful connection and cultural discovery.
The event commenced with a warm and inspiring opening remark by Associate Vice President for International Affairs, A.P. Wei-Shiun Chang, who welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of intercultural exchange and collaboration in academia. His words set a positive and inclusive tone for the day, encouraging participants to engage, connect, and learn from one another.
The morning session featured a dynamic World Café–style networking activity, designed to foster open dialogue and interdisciplinary collaboration. Participants engaged enthusiastically in small group discussions centered on shared academic interests, intercultural challenges, and opportunities for future cooperation. Each group nominated a representative to present their insights in a brief report session, generating lively and thoughtful exchanges across disciplines and institutions.
In the afternoon, the entire group visited the National Museum of Taiwan History. The cultural excursion provided foreign faculty members with an immersive opportunity to deepen their understanding of Taiwan’s rich historical heritage through guided exhibitions and interactive displays.
The event concluded on a high note, with participants expressing appreciation for both the stimulating conversations and the cultural enrichment. The TCUS Faculty Networking & Cultural Visit once again demonstrated the system’s ongoing commitment to fostering global engagement, academic dialogue, and cross-cultural understanding within the higher education community.
The participants from TCUS partner universities posed for a group photo to commemorate this special day.
