2021 UMP-NCKU Joint Research Program

Call for Proposals

一、簡介Introduction：

越南胡志明醫藥大學與成功大學為長期合作夥伴，尤其成大於越南胡志明醫藥大學設立越南海外基地之後，雙方合作更加密切，為深化兩校教研團隊跨國研究合作，由兩校共同籌畫並啟動此共同研究計畫專案，鼓勵傑出學者將研究量能應用於解決區域挑戰，並且將跨國研究成果發表分享於國際期刊。

University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City (UMP) and the National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) are long-term partners. The partnership grows stronger especially after the NCKU inaugurated an overseas hub in Vietnam in UMP’s campus. With the aim to further deepen the international research cooperation between UMP and NCKU, the two universities jointly launch the 2021 UMP-NCKU Joint Research Program to encourage outstanding researchers to integrate international academic recourses for solving regional issues and challenges and to share the cross-national research achievements through international journals.

三、計畫主持人申請資格PI Application Requirements：

(一)申請人(計畫主持人)須為越南胡志明醫藥大學講師以上之教研人員     。

Applicant (Project Investigator, PI) should be UMP research faculty, who are at least qualified as lecturer status.

(二)研究計畫須符合以下議題範疇：老齡化社會、預防醫學健康管理、智慧照護與物聯網科技、或其他於區域或全球具備重要影響力之相關議題。

Topic of research project should be regarding one of the issues below: Aging Society; Preventive Medicine and Health Management; Smart Health Care and IoT Technology; or other important regional or global issues.  

(三)若已經取得成大研究人員合作同意書者將列為優先。

Priority is given to the PI Applicants who have received Letter with Intent from a NCKU partner.

 

三、審查重點Review Focus：

(一)申請人(計畫主持人)過去研究表現與國際合作經驗。

Applicant’s (Project Investigator’s) previous research achievements and international cooperation experiences.

 

(二)研究目標為科學上重要而待解之問題，或多元且複雜之社會議題，並具論述基礎。

Research goal should be an important and pending problem in science area or a multifaceted and complicated practical issue with discursive basis.

(三)團隊成員之跨學科領域組成。

An interdisciplinary team is preferred.

(四)研究計畫之跨學科領域特性、研究議題之區域或全球化重要性。

The interdisciplinary nature of the research project and the regional or global importance of the research topic.

 

(五)研究計畫與政府、企業、或民間組織之相關合作。

Research cooperation with government, industry, or NGO/NPO is preferred.

四、申請繳交資訊與文件 Application Information and Documents：

(一) 基本資料 Basic information：

1. 胡志明醫藥大學申請人(計畫主持人)之英文院系名稱、英文職稱、英文姓名、電話、電子郵件。

UMP Applicant’s (Project Investigator’s) Department, title, name, telephone number, and email of the team members

2. 成功大學合作成員之中英文院系名稱、中英文職稱、中英文姓名、電話、電子郵件 (若有)。

Department, title, name, telephone number, and email of the NCKU Co-PI (if any)

(二) 研究計畫Research Plan (in English)：

1. 研究計畫英文名稱。

Topic of Research Plan

 

2. 研究計畫英文摘要，以500字為限。

Abstract no more than 500 words

3. 概述執行本計畫之目的及可能產生對社會、經濟、學術發展等面向的預期影響性，限英文150字以內。※此部分內容於獲核定後將逕予公開或用於相關宣傳。

Outline purpose of implementing this plan, and the expected impact on social, economic, academic development, etc. Limited to 150 words each in English.

※ This part will be made public or used for related publicity after the project plan receives approval.

4. 參加2021年11月8-12日(暫定)成大海外週之具體展現方式，包含活動方式、參加人數、邀請對象、預期效益，須達200字以上。

Concrete plan of participating in the 2021 NCKU Overseas Week during November 8-12^th (TBD), 2021, including activity format, participant number expected, target groups of invitation, and expected outcomes. Over 200 words.    

(三)研究成果及有利條件Research Achievements and Strengths：

1. 2016年至2020年計畫主持人學術發表列表。

UMP Applicant’s (Project Investigator’s) research publication list during 2016-2020.

(四) 繳交方式Submission Method：

至線上系統(https://tinyurl.com/y6zoake8)填寫以上所列之基本資料、研究計畫、研究成果及有利條件。並上傳申請表單(可供編輯之word檔案)。

Provide above-mentioned information, including Basic information, Research Plan, Research Achievements and Strengths, and complete submission through the following link (https://tinyurl.com/y6zoake8). Please also upload the application in an editable Word document.

五、經費補助說明Subsidy Information：

(一)補助期程：2021年5月至2021年12月。

   Subsidy Duration: May to December, 2021.

(二)本共研計畫專案擇優補助最高達5案。獲選之每案計畫主持人可取得胡志明醫藥大學最高補助金額美金4000元，每案共同計畫主持人則可取得成功大學最高補助金額新臺幣12萬元。

The 2021 UMP-NCKU Joint Research Program provides subsidy to up to 5 merit projects. PI will receive a maximum subsidy amount of USD 4000 from UMP. Co-PI will receive a maximum subsidy amount of NT 120000 from NCKU.

(三)經費核撥將分兩次進行：

Two stages of funding distribution:

1. 第一期款：每案核定給胡志明醫藥大學計畫主持人第一期款種子經費美金2000元，以及成功大學共同計畫主持人新臺幣6萬元。胡志明醫藥大學計畫主持人須先取得成大共同主持人合作意向書，始能獲得種子經費。

First stage: seed money of USD 2000 to PI from UMP; and NT$ 60,000 to Co-PI from NCKU. PIs in UMP will receive 2000 USD from UMP after signing the “Letter of Intent”.

2. 第二期款：2021年10月31日前提供2020年雙方共著國際期刊論文證明(包含投稿證明)，始得增加補助額度。胡志明醫藥大學計畫主持人可增加第二階段經費美金2000元，以及成功大學共同計畫主持人增加第二階段經費新臺幣6萬元。

Second Stage: the rest funding will be distributed after the PIs and Co-PIs provide proofs of a co-authored international journal (including proof of submission) in 2021 before October 31^st, 2021. PIs in UMP will receive the rest funding (2000 USD) from UMP; Co-PI in NCKU will receive the rest funding (NT$ 60,000) from NCKU.

(四)成大補助經費使用項目Subsidy Reimbursement Items in NCKU：

1. 業務費：其他非屬人事費及國外旅費之經常門經費。(含邀訪合作學者短期來訪之機票、交通費、國內旅費、兼任人力/臨時工薪資、耗材...等)

Operating expenses: Other current expenditure other than personnel costs and foreign travel, including flight tickets for short incoming visit of overseas partner, transportation expenses, domestic travel expenses, part-time workers' salary, consumables, etc.    

六、共研計畫參與義務Obligation and Requirements.：

(一)申請單位(即執行單位)須參與2021年11月8-12日(暫定)本校海外基地所舉辦之成大海外週活動，若有國外差旅費將另外補助。

Application Unit (Executive Unit) must participate in the NCKU Overseas Week scheduled to take place during November 8-12^th (TBD), 2021. Overseas Travel Expenses (if any) will be subsidized additionally.

(二)需於2021年9月30日前，雙方共同舉辦至少1場30分鐘以上之線上專題演講、學術研討、或專題課程，並且將影像透過海外基地網頁及臉書播放。

The PI and Co-PI must hold at least one virtual event, no less than 30 minutes, before September 30^th, 2021. Event types may include themed lectures, academic discussions with the member(s) of joint research project, and themed courses. The virtual event should also be used or broadcasted through the overseas hub’s website and facebook.

(三) 胡志明醫藥大學計畫主持人應至少發表一篇共同著作於學術期刊，例如MedPharmRes。由雙方依據著作貢獻程度，商議決定由誰擔任共同作者或通訊作者。

PI in UMP must have at least one publication published in prestigious Journal, such as MedPharmRes (http://medpharmres.com) or better. The selected groups will depend on the percentage of contributions to decide who will be a co-author or corresponding author. For ethical approval, the research team will decide whether PI at UMP or PI in NCKU will be in charge, depending on the study in each group
